How the estimate works
- Wall area = length x height, or use total square metres directly.
- Bricks per m2 = 1,000,000 / ((brick length + mortar thickness) x (brick height + mortar thickness)).
- Total bricks = wall area x bricks per m2.
- Total bricks with wastage = total bricks plus waste allowance, rounded up for ordering.
- Sand required = total bricks with wastage / 1000 m3.
- Cement required = (total bricks with wastage / 1000) x 10 bags.
- Mortar volume = wall area x (mortar thickness / 1000) x 0.3 m3.
